In order to coordinate and networking for a wider body of Christ covering evangelical and independent Bible schools in Myanmar, "Myanmar Theological Association (MTA)" was officially founded in 1997 in partnership with like-minded leaders of eight Bible schools in Yangon where Michael Chongluai served as its founder and president. Today it has 25 full members. MTA has written a standard core curriculum and syllabus where 70% of them are similar among member schools at the level of Diploma and Bachelor of Theology.
MTA operates under the umbrella of an independent organization called Myanmar Biblical Christian Fellowship.
Most member schools of MTA agreed to require a three year Diploma course for students under Matriculation class and an additional year to earn a B.Th. degree. So, for a person who did not pass High School can get his B.Th. degree in four years. But for a student who passed a Matriculation class they required a four year B.Th. course.
But at EBS, we have an extra year beyond MTA requirements for our B.Th. degree. A person who did not pass his Matriculation class can get his B.Th. degree in five years.
For doing a further or higher study for an M.Div., it needs another three more years.
